Write for us
We welcome pitches and contributions that help readers see how a comic choice works, where it can falter and what changes when the audience or format changes. Send proposals through the Contact page.
What makes a strong pitch
Bring one focused question, a distinct angle and a short account of how you would answer it. A pitch comparing two comic approaches is stronger than a broad promise to cover comedy. Explain what the reader will understand by the end, and identify any examples you expect to discuss.
Contributions we welcome
We consider clear, original essays and reported or explanatory pieces on comic writing, character, timing, performance and audience expectations. Useful proposals make their reasoning visible, avoid treating taste as universal, and distinguish personal interpretation from factual claims.
Before sending
Please use the Contact page to send a proposal rather than a complete unsolicited manuscript. Include a working title, a concise summary and a few lines about your relevant perspective. Do not send confidential material or assume that a submission has been accepted until we reply.
A laugh deserves a closer look
We examine what a comic choice asks of its audience, and what it gives back. No formula guarantees a laugh; the details are where the interest lies.
