Editorial policy
Vibrant Comedy Journal aims to make its observations clear, fair and grounded in the material being discussed. We distinguish interpretation from verifiable detail and correct meaningful errors openly.
Accuracy and context
We check names, quotations and factual claims against suitable material before publication, and give enough context for a reader to follow the point. Interpretations of a joke or performance are presented as readings, not settled facts. Where support is uncertain or unavailable, we do not dress a guess as certainty.
Independence and partnerships
Editorial decisions are made for the reader, not to secure favourable treatment for a partner. Paid, gifted or otherwise supported material is clearly labelled where it appears. A partnership does not guarantee coverage, a positive view or editorial approval.
Corrections
If you spot a factual error, contact us with the article and the detail in question. We review correction requests and amend substantiated errors, making a clear note when a change materially affects the piece. We do not change a fair difference of opinion simply because someone disagrees.
Illustrations
Some illustrations may be AI-generated. When an illustration could reasonably be mistaken for a documentary image, its caption or accompanying label will say so. Illustrations are not evidence for claims made in an article.
A laugh deserves a closer look
We examine what a comic choice asks of its audience, and what it gives back. No formula guarantees a laugh; the details are where the interest lies.
